Once you review this page,  you'll want to go to the "ordering" page...

  • Transforming images from virtual reality to your reality

  • We serve individuals as well as businesses...

For a photo for yourself or family, please begin by reviewing the "Guide to Photographic Services" just to the right. Here you will discover the range of prices for each "Image Package" Then review item "2" below, "Personal Photography Procedures and Pricing."

For the business person, our services and prices are described in item "1," in the following paragraph and in item "4," the "Business Options" paragraph further below.

    1. Business Photography/Video Pricing
(Products, services, architecture, annual report, VIPs, "at work," speaking engagements, events, demonstrations, training programs, public relations, special promotions, etc.)

We begin your business photo projects with an initial review of job requirements (free) followed by the presentation of an Estimated Job-Cost Proposal. All work is custom priced and negotiable. Estimates are typically based upon data provided by you, the customer.

You might want to review the "Guide to Photographic Services" to see if a personal photo option may have a possible application in photographing your product or service (also see "Business Options" at the end of this text).

    2. Personal Photography Procedures and Pricing

(Portraiture for individual or family, pets with owner, very casual and non-ceremony weddings [wedding gown, couple in studio or in scenic setting, "generations" when everyone is available, rings close up, etc.], graduating seniors in studio or in an unique setting with expressive clothing, children, toddlers, and babies)

The personal photography category breaks down into three major "steps."

Step One: the actual photographic session
    — here the image is created using camera and lights in the studio or natural lighting at the beach or other site. For this step, you can choose whether to have the session be custom priced or priced according to one of our Packages. Typically, a set of "scenes" or "poses" are planned and multiple images taken during each scene using different staging or a mix of backgrounds or even moving to another location. For example, an individual portrait taken in the studio is fairly easy because we're generally restricted to a 3/4 view or a frontal view of the subject. After the lighting is established for controlling shadows (about 15-30 minutes), the session may only take 10 minutes to capture a perfect image. With the outdoor and indoor out-of-studio sessions (church, restaurant, home, etc.) or with the "Lifestyle Portrait" or "Family Portrait" sessions, a session may require two to three hours. Here a session at a home, for example, may have one scene photographed in the front room, one planned around the swimming pool, and another by a large oak in the front yard, etc. We may capture as many as two hundred images within a two-hour period.

Step Two: selection of the best digital images — here the best and most promising images are gleaned from entire set of shots taken. In the studio, we often take a series of images with the sitter striking a number of poses. We then review the images using the computers in the studio. The outdoor sessions and in non-studio settings indoors, typically take up to several hours to complete and involve about three to seven scenes or poses. After one of these sessions, everyone is a bit tired and, although we have a laptop for reviewing the images on site, a review is often waived by our clients and we're asked to select the best images and prepare them for the final viewing on the web site.

Photography always captures the "accidents of nature." So there is always some "cleaning up" of the selected images where the distracting, little accidents of life are smoothed out or removed to create images that are more artful. We usually select a "center piece" image, that one image that is inherently the most dynamic and attractive of them all and we then strive to bring out it's full aesthetic power and feeling. If there are additional images you might want enhanced or modified, we can do so for a small additional fee.

Step Three: view your images and order prints online — review all the finest images using our "Webshow" venue, and then, with a click on the image, place your order for prints for various image sizes and cropping selections of your choosing. The printing company ships prints directly to you or, if you'd prefer, we can review them first and request any irregularities be remade as needed (handling charge is involved).

To begin the entire process (the first step described above), you will need to select which photo "package" best suits your interests. For example, the Sunset Package is offered at one price, but you can choose your own location for the photo.

In contrast, there are three "portrait packages" (Individual Portrait Package, Life-Style Portrait Package or Family Portrait Package) which allow you to choose between being in the studio or on location, which studio backgrounds you prefer best, and a variety of other options which we can suggest and explain to help make envision how your images can be presented in the best manner.

    3. Pricing

We reviewed over one hundred web sites and believe you'll find our pricing significantly less than nearly every studio in San Diego. Typically, a photo session on the beach costs $250-$350 and doesn't include prints. And it's common to find prints as small as 5 x 5-inches costing over $10.00, in some cases as much as $65.00! But you'll find our pricing very affordable.

    4. Business Options

We offer businesses a wide range of image and promotional services:

    • For Branding and promotions — photos for public relations programs, advertising, special promotions/meetings, corporate VIP portraits and annual report photos, etc. We also provide graphic services for ads, promotional flyers and brochures, exhibit booth graphics, and for other uses such as corporate brand and identity packages and product brand development,

    • For Products — product photos for web pages and printed data sheets and promotional materials for: electronics, medical (devices, pharmaceuticals, hospital, etc.), food (retail/wholesale, restaurant facilities/locales, food processing devices, etc.), transportation (company promotions, vehicles, sports/racing, etc.), and more.

    • For Services — Food handling/styling, personalities/celebrities/performances, business operations (documenting processes [photo/video], meetings, ceremonies, etc.), training videos, construction, documenting timelines, for insurance purposes, emergency services (training videos, documentation of damage/wounds and for drills and exercise assessment photos/videos), legal (site characteristics, surveillance, documentation, personal identification, etc.), architectural, insurance (site verification, personal identification, surveillance, etc.), health care (procedure documentation, training programs, portraits of staff/award-winners, etc.), and small businesses needing the services listed above.

Many of the products and services described in this web site such as "prints," "albums" and so forth, can produced and used to fulfill business applications. Imagine your product having its "portrait taken." Ask if its "personality" would show best outdoors at a scenic beach area, in a grand ballroom, or in our studio under controlled lighting. Of course, we typically use marketing research and situational factors, nuances gleaned from secondary market data and online analytics to create imagery appropriate and appealing to your markets and individual customers.
